LED indication after starting the Node:

  Red LED flashing:

O.K. The Node is not bonded, waiting in Ready to bond state.

  Red LED flash 1x:

O.K. The Node is bonded (Online state).

  Red LED flash 2x:

O.K. The Node is prebonded e.g. by IQuip (Online state).

  RED LED permanently on:

Error. Custom DPA Handler is enabled in TR configuration but not uploaded.

A Node to be bonded must be in the Ready to bond (i.e. not bonded) state. After uploading application files, the information about possible bonding remains unchanged (a bonded Node remains still bonded). Thus, before a new network is created, it must be checked whether every Node is in Ready to bond state (with the red LED flashing) and unbond the possibly bonded ones.

In Ready to bond state:

The Node is waiting in LP RX (low power receiving loop) for a system „bonding“ packet (Smart Connect or Autonetwork) from the Coordinator.

By selecting the DPA menu item 1 on the Node device, the Node transmits bonding requests (intended for Local bonding only).

If no Smart Connect nor Autonetwork is detected and no bonding request is invoked, the Node falls asleep after about 5 h. Such a long time enables installing the Nodes and invoking the bonding process (Smart Connect or Autonetwork).

This 5 h period can be changed in Custom DPA Handler in the MenuActivated event. But the period must be long enough so that the Node does not fall asleep before it is able to receive the bonding packet (Smart Connect or Autonetwork). It is also possible to disable falling asleep at all by the configuration parameter Stay awake when not bonded. See the User's Guide of the given device to know this setting.
