USB Classes

The IQRF USB devices utilize the Custom Device USB class to communicate with the IQRF IDE. Additionally, some IQRF USB devices can also use the CDC class which creates a virtual PC COM port. IQRF IDE enables to switch between these USB classes by menu Tools / Switch Device to USB Class. Drivers for both classes are a part of the IQRF IDE installation.

IQRF IDE is accessible even for a TR module with an application utilizing the CDC class. In such case switch to the Custom Device by the IQRF IDE, upload the TR module and switch back to the CDC.

See the User’s guide of given IQRF USB device to determine supported USB classes and to find out the diferences among CDC modes (CDC IQRF, CDC SPI, CDC UART).
